Which Dermal Filler is Right For You?

    Last updated 1 month ago

Your skin changes as you age, losing its ability to bounce back easily due to a decrease in collagen and elastin production. While face lifts help to reduce the signs of aging in the face and neck, many of us would prefer a less invasive approach to anti-aging treatment. Many plastic surgeons offer a number of injectable treatments in addition to surgical procedures. However, it is important to educate yourself on the various types of dermal fillers to help prepare yourself for your initial appointment. Keep reading to learn which dermal filler is right for your needs:

While Botox is used to temporarily block the nerve signals responsible for muscle contraction, dermal fillers use natural compounds to plump or “fill” the contours of your face. The best way to determine which dermal filler is right for you is to understand what each one is used for. For example, dermal fillers that utilize hyaluronic acid, such as Juvederm, are ideal for treating nasal labial folds, lines and wrinkles around the mouth, and plumping thin lips. Dermal fillers that use calcium hydroxylapatite, on the other hand, are among some of the heaviest facial fillers and are therefore reserved for deeper creases, such as frown lines, marionette lines, and shallow facial contours. The most common brand name of calcium hydroxylapatite filler is Radiesse. Additional types of dermal fillers include those that utilize autologous fat, collagen, and polylactic acid—however, only Juvederm and Radiesse have been shown to provide results for six months to a year.

Here at the Center for Cosmetic & Laser Surgery, we provide a number of injectable treatments, including Juvederm and Radiesse. We also offer many additional procedures, including breast augmentation, face lifts, and non-surgical liposuction. Find out which dermal filler is best suited to your individual needs by calling (630) 851-3223.

    Ultherapy on The Doctors

    Last updated 1 month ago

Many individuals want to look younger but simply don’t have the time to undergo invasive plastic surgery. Fortunately, there is a treatment option available to help rejuvenate your appearance in less time than traditional surgery.

In this episode of The Doctors, take a closer look at the benefits of Ultherapy. This non-surgical treatment option is designed to lift and tighten the skin without the need for surgery or patient down time. Using ultrasound technology, Ultherapy targets the deep tissue structures beneath the skin, stimulating the body’s natural collagen growth to ultimately tone and lift the underlying tissues. Learn more about the benefits of Ultherapy in this full clip.

Find out if you’re a candidate for Ultherapy by contacting our face lift surgeons with the Center for Cosmetic & Laser Surgery at (630) 851-3223. Our plastic surgery specialists also offer breast augmentation and non-surgical liposuction.
